Portia Deicke is a Solicitor based in our Rockhampton office, working across family law, domestic and family violence, child safety and Wills and estate planning.
A Rockhampton local, Portia has lived in Central Queensland all her life and has a strong connection to the community she works in.
Portia began her career in the legal industry in 2020 as a legal assistant, working while completing her legal studies. That experience gave her an understanding of legal practice from the ground up and, perhaps more importantly, an appreciation for the people behind every file. She was admitted as a solicitor on 29 November 2024 and has continued to build her experience across a broad range of matters.
In family law, Portia assists clients navigating separation and parenting matters and also works on matters involving Independent Children’s Lawyers and Separate Representatives. Her work in domestic and family violence and child safety matters has given her experience supporting clients through circumstances that can be particularly difficult and emotionally challenging.
Portia brings a practical, down-to-earth approach to her work. She understands that clients are often coming to us at times when they are uncertain about what happens next, and she enjoys helping them understand the process and take the next step with greater clarity.
Outside the office, Portia loves spending time with her family and has fairly eclectic musical loyalties. She is a keen Swiftie, but is equally at home listening to Falling in Reverse.
